Maintenance Factor calculation for LEDs

Post by kikeblackberry » Fri Jul 30, 2021 3:49 pm

DIALux EVO sticks to CIE 97 in order to calculate Maintenance Factor but taking in account those old days LED technology was not so popular as it is nowadays, LED was not included in it, so today those calculations made with that standard will not fit for LED luminaries.

Since 2019 there has been a standardized method of calculating Maintenance Factors for LEDs. This is detailed in ISO/CIE TS 22012:2019.

are you consider to include this new method in some future version of EVO? because for designers it is very important start to see the effects of applying different grades of LEDs to installations, in order to easily specify total operating hours of the LED to give the required Maintained Task Illuminance at the end of the Maintenance cycle.

Best regards,
