Horizontal Workplane

Post by J_F » Mon Oct 18, 2021 9:40 pm

Dear Dialux,

The workplane within a space is calculated across a perpendicular plane. In Dialux 4, the workplane could be modified to 'horizontal', and the two gave different results. The horizontal was assumed best practice and relevant CIBSE guidance refers to the horizontal plane.

Is the fixed perpendicular plane now classed as horizontal Evo 10?

Thank you.

Hello J_F,

In evo 10.0, the perpendicular illuminance on the workplane is still calculated. In DIALux 4.13 it is also only possible to calculate the perpendicular illuminance on a workplane. We assume that you mean the setting options for the calculation surfaces. In both evo and DIALux 4.13, you can select other calculation parameters for the calculation surfaces such as horizontal illuminance.

Thank you for your reply.

Could you please advise how I can change the room workplane to horizontal? I can change a calculation object to horizontal but cannot see an option for the automatic room workplane

Thanks

Hello J_F,

As already mentioned, you cannot set a horizontal illuminance for the working plane. You can only define the parameter for calculation surfaces.
