Discrepancy between walls and roof

Post by jevo47 » Tue Aug 17, 2021 11:18 am

Since I am adding a roof on my top floor (rooms under the roof), I am experiencing issues.
It seems that, when I either move the roof up or even when I delete it, the rooms still have the initial walls of the first roof position.

So the walls are cut off, while I would expect them to be full height again (when roof is removed) or touch the roof at the new position (when it is moved upwards).

Is this a bug, or am I missing something ?

To reproduce:
- create a storey
- create outer walls and inner walls (rooms)
- add a roof (mine was half-hip)
- either position the roof up, or remove it
--> walls are still cut

The maximum wall height is the storey height in evo.
The walls will be cut at the storey height or the lower edge of the roof, whichever is lower.
You can change the storey height in the "Storey and building construction" tool.

Hi Kolja,

I'm afraid that it is not solving my issue...
The storey height of my upper floor is 2.400m

But, with the roof deleted, the walls are still cut off, causing issues when I add a new roof

Dear jevo47,

Here is some more info about the roof construction in evo:

You should create a separate floor for the roof and construct a separate room for each roof section in the attic. In this way, many open holes in the roof should be closed, since new walls are always created when constructing a room.

If gaps are still visible afterwards, you will have to close them with the help of narrow extrusions. This is not an optimal solution, but it is the only possible one for complex roof constructions.

Please watch the following video tutorials in our YouTube channel on how to construct roofs in our DIALux evo software:
